Tour Parque Nacional Amboró

Amboro Nacional Park is a protected wilderness area of almost half a million hectares. It contains four very different geographical zones; the humid tropical forest, subtropical deciduous forest, the diverse sub-tropical forest and temperate forest of the Andean mountains. It also contains more than 800 bird species and the majority or mammal species native to the Amazon.

A ONE DAY EXPEDITION TO AMBORO N. PARK

At 8:30 a.m. we will depart from Buenavista town and head to Amboró National Park. This first part of the journey will take us approximately 1½ to 2 hours. We will experience an adventurous ride in a 4X4 vehicle. We will cross more than one river and some streams. On rainy season -November through March- some parts of the road become muddy and slippery which make the journey difficult and more exciting. Sometimes it won’t be possible for the vehicle to get to the main river; thus, we will leave it behind and continue (about 2 Km.) on horse or foot. We will then cross the main river on horse or foot or by canoe and then hike for approximately 2 hours to the trails in the virgen jungle which will take us on an exciting hike futher into the biggest lung of the planet, the Amazonia. On dry season, April through October, it will be possible to cross the rivers with the vehicle and so we will only have to walk a few meters to get to the trails in the jungle.

The hike on trail through the dense jungle is an exciting experience in which we can enjoy the many wonders of this tropical paradise. During the hike we will have the assistance of a guide who will explain us about the exuberant vegetation, and wildlife of the park. We will visit some beautiful sites such as waterfalls or pristine, natural swimming pools formed by small streams. Once there, we can enjoy swimming in the cool and refreshing waters.

After this Wonderful and unforgettable experience, we will hike back to the place where we left the vehicle. We will drive back to the town of Buenavista where we will be arriving at approximately 5:00 in the afternoon or later, depending on the conditions of the road and the weather. End of our services.
