The ecology in Bolivia

National Parks and Natural Reserves of Bolivia
· Noel Kempff Mercado National Park located in Santa Cruz
This park spreads up on a great part of the Caparuch or Huanchaca plateau. The
great waterfalls and the mountain ranges, make the place worth of a favorite
destiny of great interest for eco-tourism for the excellent conservation state
in which it appears, outstanding is the orchid bay, the lookout of the monkeys,
the Caparuch plateau and the Rainbow waterfalls.
· Integrated Management Amboró National Park and Natural Area located in Santa Cruz
The mountainous relief of the region and the peculiar rocky formations with deep
valleys and canyons make up a landscape of great beauty, the torrential rivers
and waterfalls that give this region an outstanding scenic characteristic.
Toward the cost of the park the Guarayas communities are settled down. The most
attractive places are Mucuñucú where a 40 meter high water full is an a
beautiful river with wells and caves are. In Saguayo you can watch a great
variety of animals, birds and orchids. One has to traverse the Yapacaní River to
reach that place. La Chonta is an exceptional place for the bird lovers.
· Biological Station Biosphere Reserve of Beni
In the department of the Beni there are several lagoons of great scenic beauty
and appropriate rivers for the sailing and kayakking. the important presence of
traditional and picturesque populations as San Ignacio
of Moxos and the ethnic population Chimán that develops traditional cultural
activities.
There are also some picturesque towns and those traditional ones of
the region of influence as San Ignacio de Moxos and the Chimán, important
ethnic population, outstands which creates traditional cultural activities. The touring
interesting sites are Normandy lagoon where one can find species like the black
alligator lizards and a great variety of diverse aquatic birds can be seen.
Horseback ridings and walks by the steppes one can delight with the view of the
wood islands with a vegetation and animal life typical of the tropical woods.
· Carrasco National Park in Cochabamba
In this area one can appreciate a mountains a landscape of great beauty with
deep valleys and canyons, torrential rivers and waterfalls, besides exhuberant
vegetation. The non-confirmed original populations are the group of the Tuki
ethnos. Among the main tourist attractiveness: Vida Silvestre Sanctuary that
includes the Caverns of the Repechón, two caverns with guácharos birds
and one with bats. The natural puddles in the San Rafael and San Mateo
rivers. The ruins of Incachaca. In Sehuencas it stands out the flora
like alisos, arboreal ferns and orchids.
· Sajama National Park in Oruro
The exceptional scenic beauty is outstanding due to the imposing Sajama, a
snow-capped peak. There are besides high Andean lagoons, hot water springs and
longed for routes for andeanism. The queñua woods for their singular
characteristics at such high altitudes are of special scientific interest. It is
also a particularly interesting site for the naturalism of High Mountain. The
population of this area belongs to the Aymara culture and it is one on the
places where it is traditional social organization, customs and mystic-religious
beliefs prevail.
· National Reserve of Andean Fauna Eduardo Avaroa in Potosí
The gigantic volcanoes, the immense plateaus and Colorada lagoon make landscapes
of a really unique beauty. The morning sun is impressive for its fumaroles and
its sulfarates originated by the volcanic activity. In Chalviri salt pits there
are hot water springs where tourists can take a bath. The area also presents strange
rocky formations, product of the wind's erosion. To the north, in route to the
Reservation we found the imposing one to Uyuni Salt Pit.
· Uyuni Salt Pit
Is the most spectacular, for the beauty of its sourealist
landscapes. It has numerous fossile algaric formations: the straumatolites. On
the surface there are 11 layers with thicknesses of 10 meters. This contains the
highest and the vastest salt custard existing in the world.
