Archeology Bolivia

Bolivia has a great archeological wealth that along the years, it has called the attention of worldwide renowned archeologists.

Archeological sites in Bolivia

· La Paz city - Among the outstanding archeological remains are the Tiwanaku Ruins where the Puerta del Sol (Sun Gate) is located with its astronomical observation monuments and its agriculture techniques, which show an advanced degree of knowledge, not only in its environment but in those of the universal laws. Archaeological legacy previous to the Inca culture.
In the same location, in the surroundings of the highest lake in the world are the traces of the Chiripa, Tiwanaku cultures, the Aymara and Inca realms. The archeological sites like the Inca Bath pool and the Inca Hanging place.
· Santa Cruz city - Another outstanding archeological site is the Samaipata Archeological Park where more than 50 buildings have been found out on an extension of 30 to 40 hectares, besides a great sculpture in stone. They are belonging to the Pre-Inca, Inca I, Inca II and the colonial stage.
· Also in Bolivia prehispanic roads and cave paintings are found. And the well-known prints dinosaur in Toro Toro.

The Pale ontological Museum of Tarija city and the Museum of San Francisco Xavier University in Sucre.
The National Museum of Ethnology and Folklore in La Paz city.
The Archaeological Museum of Cochabamba city.
