The ethnic identity of this region is placed on the denomination "Joaquino". San Joaquín contains a strong indigenous population. It possesses a natural, historical and cultural diversity; besides, it presents facilities in order to access to the Brazilian market (because of the proximity to the Brazilian territory).

It is recommendable to visit here: the Mapucho, Mamoré and Matacura rivers, as well as the innumerable beautiful lagoons.
