The topography of the region presents a mountainous relief with steeps. Its climate is of a sub Andean valley, with an average temperature of 8°C., in the mountains and 16°C., in the valleys.

Among its main rivers are Catambita, San Pedro, Arcoporo, Jucumanivi and Kiri.

It is custom home-made handicraft consist of sweater, bundling square woven pieces and back covering pieces.
