Located halfway between Cochabamba and Santa Cruz. It is at an altitude of 1.800
meters above sea level. The territory is vast and comprises three differentiated
regions: the higher zone known as Siberia; the zone of the valleys, where the
community itself is found. And the lower zone that spreads toward the Amazon plain.
Comarapa was founded on June 11th , 1.615 with the name of Ciudad de Santa Maria
de la Guardia y Mendoza by orders of Virrey of Peru. This spot selected for the
new city was an Inkan fortress, of which the archeological traces are still kept.
